Ingredients

  • - 2 cups instant or leftover mashed potatoes
  • - ¼ cup milk
  • - 3 tablespoons melted butter
  • - ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese optional
  • **For the Filling:**
  • - 1 lb ground beef or lamb
  • - 1 medium onion chopped
  • - 2 garlic cloves minced
  • - 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables
  • - 3 tablespoons brown gravy mix 1 packet
  • - 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • - ½ teaspoon dried thyme
  • - 1 cup water

Instructions
 

  • **Make Mashed Potato Topping**:
  • In a medium bowl, mix mashed potatoes with milk, melted butter, and cheese (if using). Set aside.
  • **Cook the Meat**:
  • In a skillet, brown ground beef or lamb with onion and garlic over medium-high heat. Drain any excess fat.
  • **Simmer the Filling**:
  • Add vegetables, gravy mix, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, and water. Stir well and simmer for 7–9 minutes until thickened.
  • **Assemble**:
  • Preheat air fryer to 375°F. Add filling to a heatproof air fryer-safe dish. Spread mashed potatoes over top and create ridges with a fork.
  • **Air Fry & Serve**:
  • Air fry for 10–15 minutes or until top is golden. Let rest for 5–10 minutes before serving.

Notes

- You can swap in homemade mashed potatoes for instant.
- Ground turkey or chicken can be used in place of beef or lamb.
- Letting the pie rest after air frying helps it hold together better when sliced.
