Ingredients
  

For the Balsamic Strawberries

  • 1 lb strawberries stemmed and quartered
  • 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar adds tangy richness
  • 1 tbsp honey can substitute with maple syrup
  • ΒΌ tsp red pepper flakes optional for heat
  • kosher salt to taste

For the Marinated Strawberries

  • 6 strawberries thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp honey adjust based on preference
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • small handful torn basil leaves

For Assembly

  • olive oil for drizzling
  • 2 balls burrata cheese torn for serving
  • flaky sea salt to finish
  • freshly cracked black pepper for seasoning
  • extra red pepper flakes optional for more heat
  • toasted bread for serving

Instructions
 

Cooking Steps

  • In a 2-quart saucepan over medium-high heat, mix the quartered strawberries, balsamic vinegar, honey, red pepper flakes, and kosher salt. Bring to a boil, then let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
  • Reduce the heat to medium-low and continue cooking for about 20 minutes, stirring often. The mixture should become thick and jam-like. Turn off the heat and let it cool for about 10 minutes.
  • In a small bowl, add the thinly sliced strawberries, honey, lemon juice, lemon zest, a pinch of salt, and a drizzle of olive oil. Toss gently and let it marinate for 10 minutes.
  • On a large plate, arrange the torn burrata cheese. Spoon the balsamic strawberries over the burrata, followed by the marinated strawberries.
  • Drizzle extra olive oil over the top and season with flaky sea salt, freshly cracked black pepper, and optional red pepper flakes. Serve immediately with toasted bread.

Notes

Serve with a drizzle of honey for an extra touch of sweetness if desired.
