For the Diploma

  • 2 cups Rice Krispie Treats Using pre-made treats saves time.

Instructions

Cake Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare and bake 2 yellow and 2 chocolate sheet cakes (9x13) along with 1 cotton candy dome cake (5-inch) until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow them to cool completely.
  • While the cakes cool, whip up a batch of yellow buttercream frosting until creamy and spreadable, adding powdered sugar gradually for sweetness.

Assembly and Decoration

  • Frost the dome cake with a generous layer of buttercream, then cover it entirely with black marshmallow fondant. Chill in the fridge for about 30 minutes to set.
  • Shape a square piece of cardboard to fit the top of the dome, cover it with black fondant, and attach it firmly to the dome using melted chocolate or royal icing.
  • Roll the Rice Krispie treats into a cylindrical shape and wrap them in white fondant for a clean look. Secure with a red ribbon.
  • Layer the chocolate cakes with buttercream frosting, then stack the yellow cakes on top. Smooth the sides with a spatula.
  • Use the remaining yellow buttercream to pipe beautiful rosettes around the sides and top of the cake. Place the diploma and cap on top.
  • Cut out letters spelling 'Congratulations Class of 2024' from fondant and adhere them to the cake board with buttercream.
