Ingredients
  

  • **Cupcakes**
  • - 125g plain flour
  • - 25g cocoa powder
  • - 1½ tsp baking powder
  • - 150g caster sugar
  • - 150g unsalted butter softened
  • - 1 egg
  • - 8 tbsp milk
  • **Cream Cheese Frosting**
  • - 50g cream cheese
  • - 25g butter
  • - 125g icing sugar
  • - ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • **Cobweb Icing**
  • - 25g icing sugar
  • - 1 tbsp cocoa powder
  • - 2 tbsp warm water

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Line muffin tin with 9 cases.
  • Mix flour, cocoa, baking powder, sugar, and butter.
  • Add egg and milk. Beat until smooth.
  • Divide into cases. Bake 20–25 mins. Cool completely.
  • Make frosting: Mix cream cheese, butter, icing sugar, and vanilla.
  • Frost cupcakes, leaving a border.
  • Mix cobweb icing and pipe 3 circles.
  • Drag toothpick from center to edge to form cobweb.
  • Let set 15–20 minutes before serving.

Notes

- Freeze unfrosted cupcakes up to 1 month.
- Double the recipe for a crowd.
