Ingredients
  

  • ### For the Brownies:
  • - ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • - ⅓ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • - 1 cup granulated sugar
  • - 1 stick ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • - 2 large eggs
  • - 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • - 2 tsp coffee extract *or* 1 tbsp instant coffee
  • - ¼ tsp baking powder
  • - ¼ tsp salt
  • ### For the Frosting:
  • - ⅓ cup unsalted butter softened
  • - 2 cups powdered sugar
  • - 1½ tsp instant coffee granules
  • - 2–4 tbsp heavy whipping cream

Instructions
 

  • ### Brownie Base:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8-inch square baking dish with parchment paper or spray with non-stick spray.
  • Melt butter and transfer to a large mixing bowl.
  • Add sugar, eggs, vanilla, and coffee extract. Mix until smooth.
  • Stir in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder until well combined.
  • Spread batter evenly in the prepared pan.
  • Bake 30–35 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Cool completely before frosting.
  • ### Frosting:
  • Dissolve coffee granules in 2 tbsp heavy cream.
  • Beat softened butter until fluffy.
  • Gradually mix in powdered sugar.
  • Add coffee-cream mixture slowly, beating until smooth. Adjust with extra cream as needed.
  • Spread frosting over cooled brownies. Slice and serve!

Notes

- For stronger flavor, use espresso powder instead of instant coffee.
- Frost only after brownies are fully cooled.
- Add chocolate chips or nuts for extra texture.
