How to Make Tater Tot Casserole with Ground Beef

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef along with diced onions for about 8-10 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
  • Stir in the cream of mushroom soup and sour cream until well mixed. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  • Lightly grease a 9x13 inch casserole dish. Spread the beef mixture evenly across the bottom.
  • Sprinkle 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese over the beef layer.
  • Arrange frozen tater tots in a single layer on top of the cheese.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until the tater tots are golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven and sprinkle another cup of shredded cheddar cheese on top. Return to the oven for 5 more minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
