Instructions

How to Make Basil Cottage Cheese Dip

  • Start by stripping the thyme leaves from the stems—about 1.5 tablespoons should do! Roughly chop the fresh basil and mince half a garlic clove for that aromatic essence.
  • In a food processor, combine the cottage cheese, the prepared herbs, minced garlic, lemon juice, and a generous sprinkle of freshly ground black pepper. Blend on high for 30–60 seconds until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  • If the dip seems a bit thick, add up to 1 tablespoon of water. Blend again until you reach your desired consistency. The goal is a creamy, scoopable dip!
  • Transfer the dip to a lovely serving bowl. Drizzle with a teaspoon of extra virgin olive oil, then taste and adjust the seasoning if necessary, adding more pepper if desired.
  • To enhance the flavors, cover the dip and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving. This resting period allows all the ingredients to meld beautifully!

Notes

Serve with fresh vegetables or pita chips for a delightful snack. Store the dip in an airtight container for up to 4 days, or freeze for up to 2 months.
