  • 8-10 pieces pepperoncini peppers Introduce tanginess and slight heat; adjust to taste.
  • ¼ cup pepperoncini juice

Optional Add-Ons

  • ½ medium onion sliced, enhances flavor and aroma; can be omitted.
  • 2 cloves garlic minced, provides additional savory depth.

For Serving (Optional)

  • cooked rice, mashed potatoes, or egg noodles Delicious pairings to soak up the sauce.

Instructions

How to Make Crockpot Mississippi Chicken

  • Lightly spray the crockpot with cooking spray. If you’re adding extra flavor, scatter sliced onions and minced garlic at the bottom.
  • Place the chicken breasts in the crockpot. Sprinkle the ranch dressing and au jus mixes evenly over the chicken. Add the butter on top, then arrange the pepperoncinis around and pour the pepperoncini juice over everything!
  • Cover and cook on LOW for 6-8 hours or on HIGH for 3-4 hours. The chicken is done when it shreds easily.
  • Shred the chicken in the crockpot and allow it to sit for 15-20 minutes to soak up the delicious juices before serving.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 4 days or frozen for up to 3 months. Avoid opening the lid while cooking to maintain moisture.
