For the Coating

  • 2 tablespoons Coconut oil or shortening For a glossy finish.

For the Filling/Decoration

  • 1 cup Cream cheese frosting Or vanilla frosting if preferred.
  • 1 cup Patriotic sprinkles For festive decoration.
  • 12 pieces Lollipop sticks Essential for transforming cake mix into pops.

How to Make 4th of July Cake Pops

  • Prepare the Cake: Make the cake according to box instructions, then cool and crumble into a bowl.
  • Form the Balls: Roll at least 1 tablespoon of mixture into balls and place on a cookie sheet.
  • Chill the Balls: Freeze the cookie sheet with the balls for about 15 minutes to firm them up.
  • Melt the Coating: Melt the white wafers and stir in coconut oil for a smooth finish.
  • Insert Sticks: Push lollipop sticks into the center of each cake ball.
  • Dip & Decorate: Dip each ball into the melted coating and sprinkle with patriotic sprinkles.
  • Dry the Pops: Allow the cake pops to harden completely before serving.

Notes

For stronger cake pops, dip lollipop sticks in melted coating before inserting. Optional: Drizzle chocolate over hardened pops for decoration.
