Instructions
 

Making the Salad

  • In a small bowl, whisk together the rice vinegar, minced garlic, fresh ginger, brown sugar, sriracha, and Chinese hot mustard. Gradually whisk in the olive oil and dark sesame oil until you achieve a smooth emulsification.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the torn romaine lettuce, shredded red cabbage, shredded carrot, chopped green onions, sliced almonds, drained mandarin oranges, and the shredded chicken. Mix gently to distribute the ingredients evenly.
  • Pour the prepared dressing over the salad mixture. Toss everything well to ensure that every component is nicely coated in the dressing.
  • Just before serving, sprinkle fried wonton strips and toasted sesame seeds on top of the salad.

Notes

Allowing the dressing to marinate for at least 15 minutes enhances its flavors. Store leftovers separately for freshness.
