Preparation Steps

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F and arrange a rack in the upper-middle section.
  • Trim the Brussels sprouts by removing any yellowed leaves and cutting them in half lengthwise.
  • Chop the pecans roughly and measure out the cranberries, setting them aside.
  • Toss the Brussels sprouts in a large bowl with olive oil, salt, and black pepper.
  • Spread the sprouts cut-side down on a baking sheet in a single layer.
  • Roast the sprouts undisturbed for 10 minutes.
  • Scatter the cranberries and pecans over the sprouts and gently mix to distribute.
  • Return the baking sheet to the oven and roast for an additional 5-8 minutes.
  • Transfer the mixture to a serving dish, season to taste, and drizzle balsamic vinegar if desired.

Notes

For best results, choose fresh sprouts and do not overcrowd the baking sheet during roasting.
