For the Whipped Cream

For the Cake & Fruit Layers

  • 1 whole angel food cake light and fluffy, it forms the perfect base for this trifle.
  • 2 cups strawberries fresh and vibrant; these berries provide a juicy, tart contrast.
  • 2 cups blueberries sweet and nutritious, they complement the strawberries beautifully.

Directions

  • In a medium bowl, combine the dry pudding mix and cold milk. Whisk for about 2 minutes until it's nice and thick. Set this mixture aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, add the heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla extract. Whip together until stiff peaks form.
  • Take your angel food cake and cut it into slices. Then, chop each slice into small pieces about 1/2 to 1 inch in size.
  • Spread half of the chopped angel food cake evenly over the bottom of the trifle dish.
  • Scatter a layer of hulled and sliced strawberries over the cake.
  • Gently spread half of the prepared pudding over the strawberries.
  • Add a layer of fresh blueberries on top of the pudding.
  • Generously dollop a layer of whipped cream over the blueberries.
  • Repeat the process with another layer of angel food cake, strawberries, pudding, blueberries, and finally, whipped cream.
  • Finish by decorating the top with extra berries in a pretty pattern.

Notes

Allow the completed trifle to chill in the fridge for at least 2 hours before serving. Store leftover trifle covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
