Equipment

  • 9-inch trifle dish

Ingredients

For the Berry Mixture

  • 1 jar seedless raspberry jam heated
  • 2 cups strawberries hulled and sliced
  • 1 cup raspberries
  • 1 cup blueberries

For the Cream Layer

  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream cold
  • 8 oz cream cheese room temperature
  • 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For Assembly

  • 24 pieces crisp lady fingers
  • 1 sprig fresh mint optional for garnish

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Prepare the Berries: Set aside a few fresh berries for garnishing at the end.
  • Heat the Jam: In a large bowl, microwave the seedless raspberry jam for about 1 minute until hot and liquidy. Add the sliced strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries, tossing gently to coat them evenly.
  • Whip the Cream: In a separate large bowl, whip the cold heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Set aside gently.
  • Mix the Cream Cheese: Beat the softened cream cheese and confectioners' sugar until smooth and creamy. Blend in the vanilla extract, then fold in a third of the whipped cream.
  • Layer the Trifle: In a trifle dish, start with a layer of split lady fingers, add ⅓ of the berry-jam mixture, followed by ⅓ of the cream cheese mixture. Repeat layers, finishing with the cream cheese mixture.
  • Garnish and Chill: Decorate with reserved berries and mint sprig if desired. Cover and refrigerate for at least 8 hours.

Notes

For best texture, prepare the berry mixture and cream separately, then layer just before serving.
