  • 0.5 cup cane sugar or brown sugar
  • 0.5 cup melted butter or vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract pure preferred
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda check freshness

  • 0.5 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 0.25 teaspoon nutmeg fresh preferred
  • 0.5 cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips

For the Topping

  • 2 tablespoons additional chopped walnuts for sprinkling on top

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease an 8x4 or 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together mashed ripe bananas, sugar, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract until combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, baking soda, sea salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  • Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing gently until just combined.
  • Fold in chopped walnuts or alternative add-ins.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and sprinkle remaining walnuts on top.
  • Bake for 50 to 60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Allow to cool in the pan before transferring to an airtight container.
