Easy Pizza Dough Recipe

Foolproof homemade pizza dough with a chewy, golden crust. Great for beginners and ready in just over an hour.

Equipment

  • - Large bowl or stand mixer
  • - Dough hook or wooden spoon
  • - Rolling pin or hands
  • - Pizza pan or baking sheet

Ingredients
  

  • - ¾ cup warm water 110–115°F
  • - 1½ tsp sugar
  • - 1 packet 2¼ tsp active dry yeast
  • - 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • - 1 tsp sea salt
  • - 1 tbsp + 1 tsp extra-virgin olive oil

Instructions
 

  • In a small bowl, combine warm water and sugar. Stir in yeast and let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  • In a large bowl or stand mixer, mix flour and salt. Add yeast mixture and 1 tbsp olive oil.
  • Knead dough until smooth (5–7 min). Add water or flour as needed.
  • Place in oiled bowl, cover, and let rise 1 hour until doubled in size.
  • Turn dough out, stretch or roll to desired shape.
  • Place on baking sheet, add toppings, and bake at 500°F for 10–13 minutes.

Notes

- Refrigerate up to 2 days or freeze up to 3 months
- Substitute half flour with white whole wheat for a heartier version
- Add dried herbs for extra flavor
