  • 1 cup Milk for frosting consistency

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line a loaf pan.
  • Bring butter and eggs to room temperature.
  • Sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, espresso powder, and salt.
  • Beat butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs one at a time and mix in peppermint extract.
  • Gradually combine dry ingredients and milk, then fold in dark chocolate chips.
  • Pour batter into the pan and smooth the top.
  • Bake for 50-60 minutes and check with a toothpick for doneness.
  • Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  • Prepare frosting by beating powdered sugar, Greek yogurt, milk, and peppermint extract.
  • Frost the cooled bread and garnish with crushed candy canes.
