How to Make Jamaican Style Meatloaf

  • Start by dicing the onion into 1/4-inch pieces and mincing the garlic. Measure out your dry spices to have everything ready.
  • Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). Spray a loaf pan with non-stick spray or line it with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, combine the lean ground beef, panko breadcrumbs, and all dry seasonings. Add sautéed onion, minced garlic, and honey, mixing gently.
  • Transfer the mixture to the prepared loaf pan and press evenly.
  • Bake for 30 minutes until lightly browned.
  • While the meatloaf bakes, whisk together the ketchup, barbecue sauce, and sugar until smooth.
  • Increase oven temperature to 400°F (200°C). Glaze the meatloaf and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until internal temperature is 160°F (71°C).
  • Allow resting for about 10 minutes before slicing.
