Ingredients

For the Dough

  • 1 cup Warm Water Between 100°F to 110°F
  • 1 tbsp Sugar Can substitute with honey or agave syrup
  • 2 tsps Active Dry Yeast Ensure it's fresh
  • 3 cups All-Purpose Flour White whole wheat flour can be used
  • 1 tsp Sea Salt Avoid coarse salt
  • 2 tbsp Extra-Virgin Olive Oil Can substitute with melted butter or a neutral oil

Instructions

Making the Dough

  • In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy and bubbly.
  • In a stand mixer, combine all-purpose flour and sea salt. Pour in the yeast mixture and extra-virgin olive oil. Mix on medium speed for about 5–6 minutes.
  • Lightly flour your work surface and turn the dough out. Shape it into a ball and place it in an oiled bowl. Cover with plastic wrap and let it rise in a warm area until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  • Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and gently stretch or roll it into a circle, aiming for approximately 14 inches.
  • Add your favorite toppings, then bake in a preheated oven at 500°F for 10-15 minutes.

Notes

For added flavor, sprinkle with fresh herbs before serving. Store unused dough in the fridge or freeze for later use.
