Ingredients
  

For the Stir Fry

  • 1.5 pounds cabbage chopped into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 tablespoon avocado oil or coconut oil for high smoke point
  • 1-2 leeks about 2 cups, cleaned and chopped into 1/2 rings
  • 1 tablespoon ginger minced
  • 1 tablespoon garlic cloves minced
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt

For the Savory Sauce

  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce or tamari
  • 2 tablespoons mirin
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar

For the Garnish

  • 3 green onions minced
  • 0.5 cup fresh cilantro chopped

Cooking Instructions

  • Preheat your wok or skillet on high heat until hot.
  • Add the chopped cabbage to the hot pan and stir fry without any oil for 3-5 minutes until some edges are lightly charred.
  • Push the cabbage to the edges of the wok. In the center, add avocado oil, leeks, ginger, and garlic. Sauté for 1-2 minutes.
  • Sprinkle salt over the mix and add toasted sesame oil, soy sauce, mirin, and rice vinegar. Stir well for about 2 minutes.
  • Toss in the green onions and cilantro.
  • Plate your cabbage stir fry over jasmine rice, buckwheat soba, or rice noodles.

Notes

For added richness, drizzle a little extra sesame oil on top before serving.
