Instructions

How to Make Festive Eggnog Cinnamon Rolls

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, instant yeast, brown sugar, and salt. In another bowl, whisk together eggnog, eggs, softened butter until smooth. Gradually mix wet and dry ingredients together until a shaggy dough forms.
  • Cover the bowl with a clean kitchen towel and let the dough rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
  • In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar and ground cinnamon. Chop white chocolate into smaller pieces and set aside.
  • Dust your surface with flour and roll out the risen dough into a rectangle about ¼ inch thick. Spread softened butter evenly over the dough, sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture, and sprinkle chopped chocolate. Roll the dough tightly into a log and slice into 12-15 equal pieces.
  • Arrange the sliced rolls in a lined baking dish, leaving a little space between each to allow for expansion. Cover again and let them rise for 20-30 minutes, until puffy.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes, or until they are golden brown.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, melt white chocolate gently with eggnog until smooth. Whisk in vanilla extract and sift in powdered sugar, stirring until you achieve a velvety glaze.
  • Remove the rolls from the oven and let them cool slightly. Drizzle the warm rolls with the eggnog glaze, then serve them warm.
