Ingredients
  

For the Meatballs

  • 1 lb Ground Turkey can substitute with ground chicken or lean beef
  • 1 tsp Onion Powder freshly ground is best
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder or use crushed fresh garlic

For the Chili Sauce

  • 1 cup Frozen Corn can use fresh corn
  • 2 tbsp Chili Powder adjust to suit heat preference
  • 1 tbsp Ground Cumin essential for chili flavor
  • 1 can Diced Tomatoes preferably San Marzano
  • 1 cup Tomato Sauce homemade works beautifully
  • 1 can Black Beans any canned beans can be substituted
  • 1 cup Mushrooms can substitute with bell peppers or zucchini
  • to taste Salt essential seasoning
  • to taste Black Pepper essential seasoning

Optional Toppings

  • 1/2 cup Sour Cream adds creamy tang
  • 1 cup Shredded Cheese cheddar or Monterey Jack
  • 1 medium Sliced Avocado for a fresh addition

How to Make Slow Cooker Chili Meatballs

  • In a medium bowl, combine the ground turkey with garlic and onion powder, seasoning it with salt and pepper. Form the mixture into 20-24 walnut-sized meatballs.
  • While shaping the meatballs, dice the onion and slice the mushrooms to get them ready for the chili sauce.
  • In a small bowl, blend the remaining garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, and cumin.
  • Place the meatballs in a single layer at the bottom of the crockpot. Pour the diced tomatoes and tomato sauce over them, followed by the diced onion, sliced mushrooms, black beans, and frozen corn.
  • Evenly sprinkle your spice mixture over all the ingredients in the crockpot.
  • Cover and cook on high for 2-3 hours or low for 3-4 hours, stirring gently halfway through.
  • Taste your chili and add more salt and pepper if needed before serving.
  • Optional: Top with sour cream, shredded cheese, or fresh avocado.
