How to Make Banana Nut Bread

  • Toast half of the raw walnuts in a skillet over medium heat for 5-7 minutes, then coarsely chop.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a loaf pan with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, baking soda, ground cinnamon, and kosher salt.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs, dark brown sugar, and mashed ripe bananas until smooth.
  • Fold the dry mixture into the wet mixture until just combined, then fold in the toasted walnuts.
  • Pour the batter into the loaf pan and scatter reserved walnuts on top. Bake for 55-65 minutes.
  • Cool the bread in the pan for 10 minutes, then cool completely on a wire rack before slicing.

Notes

Serve warm with butter for a delightful treat. Customize with your choice of nuts or add chocolate chips.
