  • 14 ounces Tomato Sauce Feel free to use marinara.
  • 6 cups Small Broccoli Florets Use fresh or frozen.
  • 1.75 cups Shredded Cheddar Cheese Swap with Monterey Jack for a milder flavor.
  • 0.25 cups Finely Grated Parmesan Cheese Can be replaced with Pecorino Romano.
  • 1 large stalk Celery Diced carrots can also be a great alternative.
  • 1.5 teaspoons Table Salt Reduce for lower sodium needs.
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder Use fresh garlic for bolder flavor.
  • 0.25 teaspoon Ground Cayenne Adjust to your heat preference.

Optional Toppings

  • 1 cup Sour Cream Greek yogurt is a healthy alternative.

Instructions
 

Cooking Steps

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F.
  • Cut larger broccoli florets into smaller pieces and steam in the microwave for about 5 minutes until tender.
  • In a large skillet, brown the ground beef for 5 minutes. Stir in tomato sauce, chopped celery, salt, garlic powder, and ground cayenne, and simmer for at least 10 minutes.
  • Combine cooked broccoli with the beef mixture and half of the shredded cheddar in an 8x8 inch baking dish. Sprinkle remaining cheese and grated parmesan on top.
  • Bake uncovered for approximately 20 minutes or until bubbly and golden. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Optional: Serve with a dollop of sour cream for added creaminess!
