Equipment

  • Air fryer

Ingredients

For the Glaze

  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder Adds depth of flavor; freshly ground is ideal for a robust taste.
  • 3 tbsp Maple Syrup Provides sweetness and creates a delightful caramelized glaze; always choose pure maple syrup for the best flavor.
  • 2 tbsp Low-Sodium Soy Sauce Enhances umami while balancing sweetness; opt for low-sodium varieties to keep it healthy.
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper Adds a hint of spice; coarsely ground pepper gives texture that's delightful.

For the Salmon

  • 2 fillets Salmon Fillets The star of the dish, rich in protein and healthy fats; skin-on fillets (about 6 ounces each) are best for that crispy finish.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a bowl, whisk together maple syrup, low-sodium soy sauce, garlic powder, and black pepper. Reserve a bit for basting later.
  • Pat your salmon fillets dry with a paper towel. Marinate them in about two-thirds of the glaze for 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
  • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F for about 3-5 minutes.
  • Place the marinated salmon fillets skin-side down in the air fryer basket. Cook for 4 minutes.
  • Baste the salmon with reserved glaze and cook for an additional 4 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F.
  • Let the salmon rest for 2-3 minutes before serving. Drizzle with pan juices.

Notes

Check the salmon at the 6-minute mark to avoid overcooking. Serve with fresh herbs or a squeeze of lemon for extra flavor.
