Preparation Steps

  • Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C) to get it nice and hot for roasting.
  • Toss the patty pan squash in a large bowl with olive oil, sea salt, and black pepper.
  • Arrange the squash on a baking sheet, cut side down, ensuring they are in a single layer.
  • Roast the patty pan squash for 15-20 minutes until tender and golden brown.
  • Heat a tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add the pattypans to the skillet, cut side down, and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  • Flip the squash and sear the other side until golden.
  • Preheat your outdoor grill or stovetop grill pan over medium-high heat for at least 10 minutes.
  • Toss the squash again with olive oil, salt, and pepper.
  • Place the squash cut side down on the grill and let them sit for 3-4 minutes.
  • Flip the squash and grill for another 3-4 minutes until tender.

  • Air fry the squash for 10-12 minutes at 400°F (204°C) until crispy.
