Ingredients
  

Sauce

  • 1 cup Soy Sauce or tamari for gluten-free
  • 2 tablespoons Rice Wine or rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Fish Sauce omit for vegetarian option
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch or arrowroot powder
  • 1 tablespoon fresh Ginger or ground ginger

Turkey Bowl

  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil or sesame oil
  • 1 medium Onion or shallots or green onions
  • 1 pound Ground Turkey or chicken or lean beef
  • 3 cloves Garlic or powdered garlic
  • 1 cup Red Pepper or any bell pepper or snap peas
  • 1 bunch Scallions separate whites and greens
  • 1/4 cup Cilantro or parsley

Garnish

  • 2 tablespoons Sesame Seeds or peanuts

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Start by dicing your onion, mincing the garlic, cutting the red pepper, and slicing the scallions. Keep the whites and greens of scallions separate for garnish.

Sauce Preparation

  • In a bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, rice wine, fish sauce, ginger, and cornstarch until smooth.

Cooking

  • Warm olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the diced onion and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Add in the ground turkey, minced garlic, and red pepper. Cook for 5-7 minutes until the turkey is browned and cooked through.
  • Pour the prepared sauce over the turkey mixture and stir for 1-2 minutes until thickened.
  • Fold in the scallion whites and serve over rice. Garnish with sesame seeds, fresh cilantro, and scallion greens.

Notes

Drizzle with sriracha for an extra kick. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days or freeze for 3 months.
