  • 1 tablespoon Rice Wine can substitute with white wine or broth
  • 1 teaspoon Fish Sauce omit for vegetarian version
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch arrowroot powder is a great substitute
  • 1 tablespoon Grated Fresh Ginger fresh is best, ground can work

For the Turkey and Veggies

  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil substitute with canola or vegetable oil if desired
  • 1 medium Onion both red and yellow onions work
  • 1 pound Ground Turkey can use ground chicken or beef
  • 2 cloves Garlic Cloves or garlic powder in a pinch
  • 1 medium Red Pepper substitute with any bell pepper
  • 2 scallions Scallions use chives or shallots if preferred

For the Toppings

  • 1 tablespoon Sesame Seeds or crushed nuts for added richness
  • 1/4 cup Cilantro parsley is a suitable alternative

  • Prep Ingredients: Dice the onion, mince the garlic, chop the red pepper, and slice the scallions (separating the whites and greens). Whisk together the soy sauce, rice wine, fish sauce, cornstarch, and grated ginger in a bowl.
  • Cook Aromatics: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sauté the diced onion for about 1 minute until fragrant and softened.
  • Cook Turkey and Veggies: Add ground turkey, minced garlic, and chopped red pepper to the skillet. Brown for 5-7 minutes until no pink remains.
  • Add Sauce: Pour the sauce over the turkey mixture, stirring for 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  • Finish and Serve: Stir in scallion whites, remove from heat. Serve over rice, garnished with sesame seeds, cilantro, and scallion greens.

Notes

Optional: Top with a drizzle of sriracha for an extra kick.
