Ingredients
  

For the Meatloaf

  • 1 pound Lean Ground Beef can be substituted with any ground meat
  • 1 pound Ground Turkey Breast can swap in extra lean beef
  • 1 cup Panko Breadcrumbs regular breadcrumbs work in a pinch
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Thyme fresh thyme is a great substitute
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil any cooking oil can be used
  • 1 medium Onion finely diced
  • 2 cloves Garlic must be minced
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce a vegan option available
  • 2 large Eggs room temperature preferred
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Black Pepper

For the Gravy

  • 2 cups Beef Broth substitute with vegetable broth for lighter option
  • 1/4 cup All-Purpose Flour gluten-free flour can be used
  • 2 tablespoons Light Butter any neutral oil can be used
  • 1 tablespoon Beef Bouillon Base optional but recommended

Directions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Finely dice the onion and mince the garlic. Sauté them in olive oil over medium heat for about 3-5 minutes until softened.
  • In a large bowl, combine the beaten eggs, ground beef, ground turkey, panko breadcrumbs, Worcestershire sauce, dried thyme, salt, and pepper along with the cooled onion and garlic mixture.
  • Form the mixture into a loaf shape. Place it onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake the meatloaf in the preheated oven for 45-55 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  • Melt the light butter in a saucepan. Whisk in the flour to create a roux, then gradually pour in beef broth, whisking to eliminate lumps. Simmer until thickened.
  • Let the meatloaf rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving topped with the rich gravy.

Notes

Optional: Garnish with fresh parsley.
