  • ¼ cup fresh parsley chopped
  • to taste salt
  • to taste black pepper

For Serving

  • 1 medium lemon cut into wedges
  • 1 loaf baguette warm

Instructions

How to Make Seasonal Seafood Mussels

  • Begin by melting butter in a large pot over medium heat. Add the chopped shallots and minced garlic, stirring gently until they soften and become fragrant, about 5 minutes.
  • Pour in the low-sodium chicken stock and dry white wine, stirring to combine. Toss in the cleaned mussels, cover the pot tightly, and steam them for 6-10 minutes. They’re ready when they've opened fully—discard any that remain closed!
  • Remove the pot from heat and stir in the heavy cream and chopped parsley. Taste the broth and season with salt and black pepper to achieve the perfect balance.
  • Spoon the mussels into large bowls, adding lemon wedges for a zesty touch. Serve with warm baguette on the side, perfect for dipping into that delicious broth.

Notes

Always buy live mussels and discard any that are open or damaged. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 day.
