  • Sauté onion: Add diced onion and sauté for 3-5 minutes until soft and translucent.
  • Sauté garlic: Stir in minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute.
  • Add tomato paste: Stir in 2 tablespoons of tomato paste and let it cook for 2-3 minutes.
  • Cook beef: Add 1 ½ pounds of ground beef, breaking it up and cooking until browned, about 6-8 minutes.
  • Incorporate spices: Mix in the chili powder, cumin, cocoa powder, paprika, cayenne, and oregano.
  • Combine ingredients: Add kidney beans, crushed tomatoes, and beef broth. Stir well and bring to a gentle boil.
  • Simmer: Lower the heat and let the chili simmer uncovered for 30-40 minutes.
  • Finish with vinegar: Stir in 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar before serving.
