  • ¼ cup heated water helps dissolve sugar
  • 1 cup ice chills the drink instantly

  • Cut the lemon in half, and using a citrus juicer, squeeze out the juice. Aim for about 2 tablespoons of fresh juice.
  • Strain the juice through a fine mesh sieve to remove any pulp or seeds.
  • Heat the water in the microwave until warm, about 20-30 seconds.
  • Combine the heated water with the sugar in a pint jar and stir until the sugar fully dissolves.
  • Add the strained lemon juice, a slice of lemon, and the ice to the jar.
  • Fill the jar with cold water, leaving a little room at the top, and stir gently.
  • Pop in a straw, and you’re ready to enjoy your refreshing homemade lemonade!

Notes

Store any leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze in ice cube trays for up to 3 months. Adjust sweetness to preference.
