  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs room temperature
  • 3 very ripe bananas mashed
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 3/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips divided
  • 1/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips for topping

How to Make Choc Chip Banana Bread

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a loaf pan by buttering and dusting it with flour.
  • In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened unsalted butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Gently beat the large eggs and then add them to the bowl, followed by the mashed ripe bananas and vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually mix this into the wet ingredients.
  • Fold in the semisweet chocolate chips into the batter, then transfer the mix to the prepared loaf pan and sprinkle the remaining chocolate chips on top.
  • Bake for 55-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let it cool for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
