How to Make Deviled Eggs

  • Begin by placing the eggs in a pot and covering them with cold water by 1 inch. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
  • Once boiling, cover the pot, remove it from heat, and let the eggs sit for 10-12 minutes.
  • Transfer the hot eggs to an ice water bath immediately after resting. Let them cool completely for about 14 minutes.
  • Gently tap the cooled eggs on the countertop to crack the shell and peel them under cool running water.
  • Slice each egg in half lengthwise and scoop out the yolks into a mixing bowl. Add the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, vinegar, and hot sauce. Mash until smooth.
  • Taste the yolk mixture and adjust flavors with sea salt, black pepper, or additional hot sauce.
