Instructions

How to Make Margarita Bars

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F and lightly spray an 8x8-inch pan with cooking spray for easy removal.
  • In a large bowl, combine the softened butter and powdered sugar using an electric mixer. Mix until fluffy, then add the flour and pinch of salt on low speed just until combined. Press this mixture firmly into the prepared pan. Bake for 22 to 25 minutes until set and lightly browned.
  • In another large bowl, whisk together the eggs with granulated sugar. Add the lime zest, lime juice, orange juice, and salt. Whisk until smooth, and stir in the tequila.
  • Pour the lime mixture over the slightly baked crust. Bake for another 20 to 23 minutes or until the center is set but still slightly jiggly.
  • Let the bars cool completely in the pan. Cover and chill in the fridge until ready to serve. Finish by dusting with powdered sugar and a sprinkle of flakey sea salt.

Notes

For a pop of color, serve with a slice of lime. Use fresh limes for the best flavor.
