Ingredients
  

  • For the Tuna Patties:
  • 1 5-ounce can of tuna, drained
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup Italian-seasoned bread crumbs
  • 1/3 cup minced onion
  • 1/4 cup minced celery
  • 1/4 cup minced red bell pepper
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons chili sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried dill weed
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 dash hot pepper sauce optional
  • 1 dash Worcestershire sauce
  • For Serving:
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 1 tomato sliced
  • 4 leaves of lettuce

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the Tuna Mixture:
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the drained tuna, egg, bread crumbs, minced onion, celery, red bell pepper, mayonnaise, chili sauce, dill weed, salt, pepper, hot pepper sauce, and Worcestershire sauce.
  • Mix well until all ingredients are evenly combined.
  • Shape the Patties:
  • Form the mixture into 4 equal-sized patties.
  • If the mixture is too soft, refrigerate the patties for 30 minutes to help them firm up.
  • Cook the Patties:
  • Preheat a nonstick skillet over medium heat and coat with cooking spray.
  • Cook the patties for about 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown.
  • Carefully flip them, as they can be fragile.
  • Assemble the Burgers:
  • Place each cooked tuna patty on a hamburger bun.
  • Add a slice of tomato and a leaf of lettuce.
  • Serve immediately with your favorite condiments.

Notes

Use quality canned tuna packed in water for a better texture.
Chilling the patties before cooking helps them hold their shape.
For a healthier option, bake the patties at 400°F (200°C) for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through.
Serve with whole grain buns or lettuce wraps for a lighter meal.
